Design Lab offers three different payment options for their UX Academy program. All programs require a downpayment of $399 (refundable) to save your seat in the online program.
- Upfront payment – can be made via PayPal or credit/debit card
- Extend payment plan which is serviced by Climb Credit
- 6-month extended payment – split your payments up over 6 months. This option is only slightly more expensive than the upfront payment option
Design Lab also offers a 6-month tuition reimbursement guarantee. As long as you complete all your assignments and work with the careers team to find a job, if you’re unsuccessful you’ll receive your tuition fee back.
If you’re looking to switch your career and land your first UX/UI role as a designer or product designer, this is the online course for you. During course, you’ll learn design principles, responsive design, UX design, and UX design. You’ll also build your own portfolio and sharpen your skills with one on one mentorship with an experienced designer.
Along with your classes, you’ll pair up with a career coach who will assess your skills and portfolio and help you land your first job. Aiding you to perfect your portfolio, nail your cover letters, participate in practice interviews, and improve your negotiation skills.

This crash course teaches you the core design fundamentals you’ll need, such as color theory, typography, and layout. It’s aimed at beginners so you can hone your design skills and begin to build your portfolio while getting to grips with popular design tools.
In this short course, you’ll learn the ins and outs of task flows, UI design patterns, and how to create prototypes. By the end of the course, you’ll have a portfolio to showcase your designs and knowledge.
UX research and strategy
Researching the needs of your users is just as important as your design skills. You’ll learn how to create better designs and products using data, storyboards, personas, and user journey maps.
UX interaction design
Learn the foundations of human interface guidelines, the essential principles of usability, and fundamental design details.
To date, design labs have 529 graduates hired from their UX Academy course. The average time it takes from graduation to landing a new job is only 107 days, and graduates have gone on to work for companies like Adidas, Microsoft, Backbase, and Comrade Agency.
The UX Academy is open to anyone, regardless of your background and level of experience. Although if you have little or no design experience, you’ll be required to take the 4-week Design 101 course. Because the course is taught in English, you’ll need to pass an assessment to ensure you can follow the course materials and partake in all of the discussions between your mentor and fellow students.
